Envy & Other Sins

Envy & Other Sins

Influenced by English stalwarts like the Kinks and Roxy Music, as well as the Welsh rock combo Super Furry Animals, Envy & Other Sins formed in Birmingham, England and came to prominence upon winning the top prize (a record contract with A&M) in the Channel 4 nationwide talent show, MobileAct Unsigned. Representing the better part of England's Midlands region, members Ali Forbes (vocals and guitar), Mark Lees (bass and vocals), Jim Macaulay (drums), and Jarvey Moss (keys and vocals) released their first single, "Highness," on March 3, 2008. Their debut album, We Leave At Dawn, was released on March 31, 2008 through Polydor Records. To support their platter, Envy & Other Sins were in the planning stages of a 2008 tour with fellow Brit-rock upstarts the Hoosiers.

On July 1, 2009 the band announced they were to split up.
