Kid Sister, aka Melisa Young, was born and raised in the Chicago suburb of Markham, IL. She took an interest in Musical Theater from an early age but did not pursue a career in music until 2005 when she started to rap at monthly Chicago dance parties hosted by Flosstradamus. Shortly thereafter, Young adopted the stage name and persona of Kid Sister and made her debut with the playful and popular single, "Pro Nails." The track caught the attention of rapper/producer Kanye West, who re-released it with his own guest verse. Since then, Kid Sister has released a full length on Universal Records, an EP on Fool's Gold Records, and two acclaimed mixtapes. Most recently, Kid Sister has teamed up with dms.FM to write and produce ten custom tracks for our Composer Series, which are available for one-stop licensing now.
