Dresden is a modernist indie/pop band from Prestwich, North Manchester. The members of Dresden believe in making music that sounds like it was made today, in 2010, and that reflects the landscape of the city that birthed the group. Their line-up and ethos differs from that of a traditional indie band in that they use cutting edge technology not only to augment our sound, but to explore the possibilities that modern musical technology and new media afford artists today. Dresden consists of Ryan Magee (vocals), Karl Adie (guitars), Simon Adams (bassist), Marc Hassall (piano/keyboards/producer) and in place of a drummer they have musician/producer Craig Connelly in charge of beats/processing/soundscaping. They use this set up to create atmospheric pop music which we feel is challenging yet accessible, in addition to sounding modern. Their music has drawn rough comparisons with bands such as Radiohead, Elbow and Ultravox.
