Tafari

Tafari

Zambo Buchanan aka TAFARI (whose name means “Fearless One”) was born in Kingston Jamaica to mother Joan Porteous and legendary Reggae artist Big Youth. His father is touted as one of the pioneers of the ‘dance hall’ style of reggae and consequently as one of the founding fathers of hip-hop. Braving criticisms and living up to his powerful birth name “fearless one” Tafari has branded himself as one of the few Soul/Hip-Hop/Reggae artists in an industry reluctant to experiment with the genre of reggae. Tafari’s stage show experience is expansive as he has toured the world with his father Big Youth, appearing on gigs all across the United States, UK, Europe, and South America. Since entering the business as a teenager, Tafari has collaborated with some of Jamaica’s popular Dancehall giants such as Wayne Wonder, Lady Saw, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Vybz Kartel and R&B singer/songwriter Jimmy Cozier.
