Scissor Sisters

Scissor Sisters

Scissor Sisters is a four-piece glam pop/disco band, from New York City, NY, USA. The band was formed in 2000, by Jason Sellards (aka Jake Shears - lead vocals) & Scott Hoffman (aka Babydaddy - keyboard / bass). Other members are Ana Lynch (aka Ana Matronic - lead vocals) & Derek Gruen (aka Del Marquis - guitar). Randy Schrager (aka Randy Real), is the band’s live drummer. Patrick Seacor (aka Paddy Boom), left band in 2008. The group was named after a sex position between two women. Lyrics are largely written by Shears / Babydaddy & known for a mixture of wit & tragedy.

Released in 2004, their self-titled debut album gained much success in the United Kingdom, where the album went to number one, was the best-selling album of that year and was later certified platinum by the BPI. In 2006, the band released their second studio album, Ta-Dah, which proved to be a commercial and critical success and scored the band two consecutive number-one albums in UK as well producing their debut number-one single in the UK "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'". Displaying a shift towards a more club-oriented sound, their third studio album, Night Work, was released in 2010; charting at number two on the UK Albums Chart.
